Dr. Shawn completed his undergraduate studies at California State University Northridge (CSUN) were he received a degree of Bachelor of Science with a major in Biological Sciences. He attended the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry (UOP) in San Francisco. This is the only three year dental school (usually four) in all of North America.

After completing his three years at UOP, Dr. Shawn continued his education with a one year residency program. The focus of this residency was cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery, his two favorite categories of dentistry. His desire to learn more about these two topics and all aspects of dentistry has continued to this day.

Continued education is a wonderful way to stay current with the newest technologies and developments in the field of dentistry. The world of dentistry is constantly changing. Dr. Shawn believes if you are not up to date with these changes, you are more than not getting ahead, you are falling behind. When this happens, a dentist is not providing optimal care for his patients.
