Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays are images that are taken digitally and loaded into a computer file especially for a specific patient. The advantages of digital x-rays include a 90% lower exposure to radiation. Less Radiation equals safer dentistry. They can also be enlarged to the full size of a computer screen, allowing the doctor to have improved viewing ability for analysis and diagnosis.
Intra Oral Cameras
Intraoral cameras are tiny digital cameras that fit comfortably in your mouth and enable your dentist to show you an enlarged image of your smile on a computer screen. Not only does this help during diagnosis with clearly defined images that show details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations, it can also be an educational tool, allowing you see the inside of your mouth and confront problems or review procedures as they progress.
Laser Dentistry
To keep your smile – and your self -- looking and feeling great, start with healthy gums. Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss and has been linked to heart disease, stroke and premature and low birth weight babies. Periodontal laser therapy treats the disease more effectively and comfortably than ever, removing scar tissue in periodontal pockets, killing bacteria causing the disease and promoting the reattachment of the gum to tooth.
Vizilite
We now know that oral cancer claims one life every hour in the U.S. - and the mortality rate has not changed significantly in over 40 years. This disease is of great concern to the doctors at Promenade Dentistry because oral cancer is very treatable when discovered early.
Because early detection is the key to successful outcomes, this practice has incorporated ViziLite, an FDA-cleared medical technology for oral screening to ensure that you receive the most comprehensive oral cancer screening possible. ViziLite is to oral screening what mammogram, PAP smear and the PSA test are to breast, cervical and prostrate screenings.
ViziLite is a simple, painless and non-invasive instrument that improves the doctor's ability to visualize, evaluate and monitor suspicious areas at their earliest stages. ViziLite helps the doctor see what he/she can't see with the unaided eye.
After a standard visual and physical oral cancer examination, ViziLite gives our doctors the highest level of confidence that they are providing their patients with the most thorough oral cancer screening available. Isolite
In our practice, we utilize the award-winning Isolite™ Dryfield Illuminator to improve our dentistry and our patients’ safety and comfort. With Isolite, procedures are quicker so patients spend less time in the chair. Isolite also increases patient safety and comfort. Instead of straining to keep the mouth open, the patient’s mouth is comfortably held open with a soft bite block, so the patient experiences less jaw fatigue. Instead of having to ask for suction during the procedure, the patients’ oral cavity is continuously freed of excess fluids. In addition, the Isolite provides an added measure of safety by protecting the patient’s tongue, cheek and throat throughout the dental procedure. This also helps protect the patient from the mercury released during amalgam removal. It’s a great new innovation in dentistry and we are proud to offer it to our patients.
